Letter to supporters of the 2008 tournament

Donnelly-Johnson Golf Tournament

Welcome to the web site for the Donnelly-Johnson Golf Tournament. Every year, 144 golfers come together for a tournament in memory of two former St. Pius School students: Tricia Donnelly and Tricia Johnson. We play a best-ball tournament and then enjoy a luncheon reception after the tournament. It is always a good time.

As much fun as the tournament is, this tournament is also one of the most important fundraisers for St. Pius V. School. This tournament has raised more than $15,000 a year for more than a decade. The money that is raised in the tournament is earmarked for financial aid to needy students with some going to current students and some saved for an endowment.

If you are interested in helping out, there are many ways to get involved:

Golfing—We know this is demanding, but someone has to golf. Traditional paper registration forms for the 2010 tournament are available here. You can also register online by clicking here.

Volunteering—For more than a generation, this tournament has thrived, in large part because of the willingness of parents and parishioners to make this golf tournament happen. The tournament doesn’t happen by itself; there are many ways to get involved, from soliciting donations, to signing up golfers, to working at the event itself. If you are interested, please contact the tournament chairman, Patrick Breen, at phbreen@yahoo.com.

Patrons—One of the best ways for people to support the tournament is by making a donation. Any donation is welcome, but we have created five sponsorship levels for those who are able to give a bit more. The St. Pius level, $100, includes a tee sign. There are also additional donor levels at St. Cecelia, $250, St. Thomas Aquinas, $500, St. Catherine of Sienna, $1000, and St. Dominic, $2500. If you haven’t considered sponsoring the tournament, I hope that will for this year.

Please look around the web site and see the kind of fun that people are having. And then make your plans to join us.

Sincerely

Patrick Breen
